Joe Willie Lightfoot, 72, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on Nov. 20, 2021, in Hot Springs.

Born Aug. 16, 1949, in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late Mark Lightfoot and Ella Mae Huggins, and was raised by his Aunt Willie Sims. When Joe was 5 years old, he and his Aunt Willie relocated to Hopkins Park, Ill. Later, he relocated to Kankakee, Ill., where he met the love of his life, Minnie Lee Morgan, in 1976 and moved to Chicago, Ill., for a year, then Baldwin, Calif., and then in 1980, they settled in Long Beach, Calif. In 1996, they relocated to Hot Springs, Ark., where they were married on Joe Willie's birthday in 1997.

Joe began driving 18-wheeler (Big Trucks) as a teen and continued until he was diagnosed with lung cancer in his late 60s. He loved car racing and working on cars.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae Huggins and Mark Lightfoot; an aunt who raised him, Willie Lee Sims; daughter, Jeanie Lightfoot; and brother, Raymond Ross.

Joe is survived by his wife, Minnie Morgan Lightfoot; daughters, Yolanda Jones, Denise Jones and Keisha Anastacia (Jr Ellis) Lightfoot-Ellis; son, Brian Tamoyne Washington; grandchildren, Ganea Jones, Ganell Jones, Tayliyah Calhoun, Isiah Calhoun, Ta'Jon Ellis, Bre'jae Washington, Adonte Bradford, Savannah Washington, Rhian Washington, Alexis Washington, Leya Beary, Malik Guinn Jr. and Malia Guinn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joe Willie Lightfoot is and will always and forever be missed. We love you!

The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, 401 Lacey St., Hot Springs, AR 71913.
