Recycling just 1 ton of corrugated cardboard saves a total of 9 cubic yards of landfill space and 46 gallons of oil.
"Be the 'Earth Angel' of your neighborhood by helping an elderly neighbor participate in the curbside collection or by encouraging a neighbor to start recycling. Start recycling today," says the Hot Springs Solid Waste Department.

Last week, the Earth Angels of Hot Springs recycled:
292 pounds – Aluminum cans.
550 pounds – Newspaper.
1,946 pounds – Corrugated cardboard.
90,300 pounds – Yard waste and C.A.P.S.
714 pounds – Plastic grades No. 1 and No. 2.
71,760 pounds – Commercial cardboard.
A total of 82.78 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of the landfill.
