Art Form event

canceled for today

The next installment in the America's Art Form Series, presented by the Hot Springs Jazz Society and the Garland County Library, that was scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. today has been canceled due to concerns about the increase in COVID-19 positive cases, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Planning Commission

to hold public hearing

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 133 Convention Blvd., to consider the following:

• Zoning change request from Medium/High-Density Residential District (R-4) to Office/Neighborhood Commercial District (C-3) for Block 2: Lots 1-5 in the J.P. Mellards Addition Subdivision, 104 Gossett Place.

• Miscellaneous application request for an extension to complete required subdivision infrastructure in the Waymaker Way subdivision at 1160 Lakeshore Drive.

• Large scale development site plan review application for new assembly occupancy religious institution, K-Life of Hot Springs, at 174 Aviation Plaza.

• Large scale development site plan review application for the construction of an assembly occupancy restaurant and cantina, Kalua's Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, 1442 Airport Road.

• Preliminary subdivision application review for Hays Family Commercial subdivision, 1871 Higdon Ferry Road.

The lobby of City Hall will be used as overflow, as needed. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the city's YouTube channel, http:// www.youtube.com/cityofhotsprings and on City12 Resort TV, which will also broadcast the meeting live.

Sewer work closes

part of East Grand

The shoulder of the inside north and southbound lanes near the intersection of Vine Street and East Grand Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday next week for a sewer line replacement.

Caution signs and lighted barrels will be in place, and motorists are asked to use caution when traveling in this area.

Tree removal closes

part of Hobson today

Hobson Avenue, between Cooper and Mason streets, will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon today for tree removal.

Caution signs, barricades and flaggers will be in place, and motorists are asked to use an alternate route when traveling in this area.
