A local man struck by a vehicle while walking on East Grand Wednesday evening reportedly died from his injuries later that night, according to an Arkansas Department of Public Safety fatal crash summary.
Carl Wayne Polston, 61, of Hot Springs, was in the outside lane of East Grand near Butterfield Street shortly before 6 p.m. when he was reportedly struck by a 2014 Jeep Compass traveling eastbound in the outside lane.
Polston was transported by LifeNet to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs where he reportedly died from his injuries later that night.
Conditions were reportedly cloudy and wet at the time of the incident, which was investigated by Hot Springs police.
