NEW DeROCHE COMMUNITY -- Georgia L. Anderson, 75, lifetime resident of the New DeRoche Community, entered the gates of her heavenly home on Friday, June 2, 2023.
She was born July 29, 1947, in Mountain Pine, Ark., of the late George Elmer and Helen Lorene Foster Shelton. Georgia was a member of Prairie Bayou Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and church family, spending time with her grandkids and loved eating out. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Renee Anderson; brother, Ray Shelton; sister, Linda Ferrell; and stepfather, Coy Nash.
Left to cherish her memories, husband of 56 years, John Wesley Anderson (she was the dream of his life); daughters, Karen Anderson (Gene) of Hot Springs, Sharla Matthews (Josh) of Franklin, Ky., and Amy Works (Clint) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Chandler Cain (Reagan), Annaleice Cain and AJ Matthews; half sister, Elaine Johnson of Hot Springs; dear friend, Ruth McClard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Regency Funeral Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at Prairie Bayou Church of Christ, with the Rev. Kelly Thomas officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will follow at Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chandler Cain, Clint Works, Josh Matthews, Gene Jackson, Mike Hughes and Mike Anderson.
