A reception is planned for later this month for Sharon Morel, RN, who is retiring as Cooperative Christian Ministries and Clinic's clinic coordinator after 23 years.

The reception will be held at 1 p.m. March 29 at CCMC, 133 Arbor St. Anyone who plans to attend is asked to email Sallie Culbreth, [email protected].

Morel has been involved with the charitable clinic since 2000. According to a news release, she began as a volunteer nurse when she read about the clinic shortly after moving to Hot Springs Village from Keller, Texas. She first volunteered for the day clinic, then for the night clinic. In 2003, she joined CCMC's staff as the clinic coordinator.

Morel received her BA from Spaulding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. She has been a registered nurse since 1961.

"Throughout her life, Sharon has lived to serve others, relieve suffering, and extend mercy and compassion to all who are in need. Thousands of patients have been cared for by this amazing woman. She has served with grace, dignity, and a deeply rooted love for helping others," the release said.
