Due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, the Solid Waste Department's residential collections and Earth Angel Recycling, including leaf and mulch collection, will run one day behind schedule; for example, Monday's collection will be picked up on Tuesday.

Last week, the Earth Angels of Hot Springs recycled:
125 pounds -- Aluminum cans.
65,040 pounds -- Commercial cardboard.
1,974 pounds -- Corrugated cardboard.
367 pounds -- Newspaper.
648 pounds -- Plastic grades No. 1 and No. 2.
2,120 pounds -- Scrap metal.
42,600 pounds -- Yard waste and C.A.P.S.
Last week, a total of 56.43 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of the landfill.
