A local teen was arrested Wednesday on a felony battery charge after allegedly pushing his pregnant girlfriend across the room, causing her to strike her face on a television.

Corbin Tylan Danner, 19, of 730 Spring St., was taken into custody at his residence shortly after 12:30 p.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison because the reported victim is pregnant.

Danner remained in custody Thursday on zero bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court. According to court records, he lists no prior felony history, but pleaded guilty on Feb. 27 to a misdemeanor count of carrying a weapon and was sentenced to one year in jail, all suspended, and fined $305.

According to the probable cause affidavit, around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Hot Springs police Officer Victor Arteaga responded to the residence regarding a battery that had just occurred.

A female there told Arteaga that she and Danner had "a family argument" and she wanted Danner to leave the residence as a result. She said Danner refused to leave and "began acting violent."

She alleged he pushed her across the living room and caused her to hit her lip on the television. Arteaga noted the victim had blood stains on the right side of her T-shirt which she said was a result of her hitting her lip.

She also told officers she is pregnant and Danner is the father of her child. Officers asked if she needed to be checked by LifeNet, but she reportedly refused all medical attention.

Arteaga approached Danner, who was sitting on the sofa, and told him to get up and put his hands against the wall. Danner allegedly "became aggressive" toward officers, but they were able to place him into custody.

Photos of the victim's injury were taken as evidence and she was given a Laura's Card and a lethality assessment form was completed as part of the investigation.
