One person received minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision that occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Albert Pike Road and Richard Street, according to Hot Springs police.

A 2018 Mazda 3, driven by Alexander Higgins, 33, of Hot Springs, was reportedly eastbound in the left lane of Albert Pike approaching Richard when he crossed into the path of a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by Richard Marchand, 70, of Hot Springs, who was westbound in the inside lane, Sgt. Joey Williams said.

The impact caused the Mazda to spin and crash into a 2020 Toyota Camry, driven by Josie Bennett, 52, of Hot Springs, who was also westbound on Albert Pike, he said.

Williams noted Marchand had to be extricated by Hot Springs Fire Department personnel from his truck, but the only injuries reported, which were believed to be minor, were suffered by a passenger in the Toyota who was transported by LifeNet to a local hospital.

Higgins was cited for driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain control and not wearing a seat belt, Williams said.
