A local woman was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly being caught in the act of breaking into another woman's vehicle with Hot Springs police finding her still sitting in the SUV.

Tori Ellen Milsak, 33, who lists an Edgewood Street address, was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. and charged with a felony count of breaking or entering, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of first-degree criminal mischief, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Milsak also had misdemeanor warrants for theft of property and unlawful transfer of property to a pawnshop or pawn broker which had been issued on Feb. 7. Milsak, who listed no criminal history before those incidents, was being held on a $5,500 bond and was set to appear Friday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly before 9 a.m., HSPD Officer Zach Hoofman responded to the 200 block of Hillcrest Street regarding a break-in in progress with the caller stating an unknown person was currently inside her 2019 Ford Explorer.

Officers arrived and located the vehicle and allegedly saw a white female, later identified as Milsak, sitting in the driver's seat. She was ordered out and reportedly followed commands and was taken into custody by Hoofman without incident.

The victim looked inside her SUV and noted there were several items in the driver's and passenger's seats that did not belong to her. Upon collecting the items, Hoofman determined there was a driver's license and several credit cards all belonging to Milsak.

A black container was found in the passenger seat which the victim said belonged to her and other items of hers were scattered around so it appeared Milsak had "gone through her glove box."

A further examination of the vehicle revealed damage to the upper carriage sunglasses holder which had torn free and Hoofman noted there was "loose wiring hanging" as a result. Damage was also observed to the plastic covering of the emergency brake on the driver's side floorboard.
