A local woman arrested Monday on misdemeanor warrants was soon facing felony charges after she was allegedly found to have drugs hidden on her person while being processed for entry into the jail.

Brittney Gail Reynolds, 37, aka Fletcher, who lists an Apple Road address, was taken into custody shortly before 3 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance, meth, and two counts of furnishing, possessing or using prohibited articles, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to six years, in addition to three warrants for failure to appear, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.

Reynolds, who lists no prior felony history, was being held on a $20,500 bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Arkansas State Police Trooper Daniel Theiss made a traffic stop on a red SUV on Malvern Avenue near Arlington Park Drive and made contact with the driver and two passengers.

A computer check showed the rear passenger, identified as Reynolds, had warrants for her arrest, so she was asked to step out and advised of the warrants. Before taking her into custody, Theiss notes he asked Reynolds if she had anything on her person he needed to know about, such as guns, knives or drugs, and she reportedly said, "No, I do not."

Reynolds was taken into custody and the driver and other passenger were released. Reynolds was transported to the Garland County Detention Center and during processing, a female corrections officer allegedly found a meth pipe in her bra.

Reynolds was taken to another room "to do a further search" and a white container was allegedly found hidden in her privates. Theiss determined the container had 18.1 grams of a substance. When asked what the substance was, Reynolds reportedly said, "I'm not sure. I think it's meth."

The suspected meth was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to be tested and Reynolds was charged accordingly, the affidavit said.
