A second victim died Sunday as the result of Friday's triple shooting on Beard Street, and Hot Springs police said Monday afternoon they have arrested two juveniles and are seeking a third in connection with the homicides and a related robbery.

The names of the juveniles were not released. Both of the suspects arrested Monday are charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated robbery, each punishable by up to life in prison, a news release from Officer 1st Class Omar Cervantes said Monday. No other details were released by police.

Mahayla Swayze, 20, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday after being transported to a local hospital while Adrianna Howell, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene Friday. Both were found inside a parked vehicle in front of 201 Beard St. with "bullet wound injuries," at around 5:15 p.m. after police responded to a shooting in that area.

"Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed multiple juvenile suspects in connection with the shooting," Cervantes said. On Monday, detectives arrested two juveniles in connection with the shooting while a third juvenile suspect is still being sought, he said.

Cervantes had confirmed the death of Swayze to The Sentinel-Record on Monday morning and at that point, no suspects had been arrested, but he stressed detectives were "actively working this investigation."

The release of the arrest of the two suspects was issued shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.

A juvenile male gunshot victim was located in the 200 block of North Patterson Street with a non-life-threatening injury to his leg and was also transported to a local hospital on Friday. Cervantes told the newspaper the male had fled from the scene on Beard Street immediately after the shooting to the location on North Patterson, so police "had two crime scenes" at that point.

It was noted Howell was found in the driver's seat, and Swayze was in the passenger seat of the vehicle.

"If you have any information regarding this investigation, please contact the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6789," Cervantes said in the release.
