A felon on probation who was arrested Monday on multiple warrants stemming from drugs that were allegedly found following a one-vehicle wreck last month was soon facing additional charges after a shotgun was reportedly found in his vehicle.

Timothy Edward Brannon, 45, who lists a Quapaw Avenue address, was taken into custody shortly before 10 a.m. at the probation and parole office, 615 W. Grand Ave., and charged with possession of meth with purpose to deliver, punishable by up to 30 years in prison, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, punishable by six to 10 years, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a firearm by certain persons, all punishable by up to six years.

Brannon was being held on zero bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.

According to court records, he was convicted in 2014 in White County on multiple drug charges and sentenced to five years' probation; on March 3, 2022, in Stone County on multiple drug charges and sentenced to five years' probation; and has a possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver charge pending in Saline County from an arrest on Jan. 7.

According to the probable cause affidavit on the drug charges, on Feb. 26, in the early morning hours, Hot Springs police responded to a single-vehicle wreck with injury involving a 2023 Toyota Tacoma in the 1600 block of Park Avenue.

At the scene, officers allegedly found a small black magnet box near the passenger side front tire of the Tacoma. The box was found to contain three plastic baggies, each with roughly 28 to 29 grams of what later tested positive for meth, a total of 84 grams.

They also found a medium-sized brown bag about 10 yards from the truck in the woods off the passenger side. The bag contained a multiple storage pill container with several different types of pills, a small blue container with more pills, and a clear baggie with 44.4 grams of what later tested positive for meth.

The pills were later identified as 88 clonazepam pills, 2o alprazolam pills, a morphine pill, eight diazepam pills, two zolpran pills, two dextroamphetamine pills, 67 temazepam pills and 12 hydrocodone pills. It was noted the bottle with the hydrocodones had the name of the Tacoma's driver, identified as Brannon, on it.

The bag also contained digital scales, a pouch with several empty baggies, and a psychedelic mushroom cookie.

The front seat passenger was holding a black backpack that contained four glass pipes with residue, five pill bottles in the passenger's name and a glass marijuana bong.

Brannon was injured and transported to a local hospital so he was not charged at that time, but warrants were later issued for his arrest on multiple drug charges.

According to the affidavit on the firearm charge and one of the paraphernalia counts, on Monday, shortly before 9 a.m., Brannon arrived at the probation and parole office to see his probation officer and a check showed he had four warrants through the HSPD and a probation violation warrant out of Stone County.

HSPD Officer 1st Class Aaron Combs came to the office to take Brannon into custody on the warrants. Brannon asked Combs if he could retrieve his wallet from his vehicle, a 2023 Toyota Camry, parked outside. Brannon allegedly admitted he drove the vehicle there and was the only occupant and had the keys in his pocket.

Combs unlocked the car and attempted to locate Brannon's wallet, which he found in the center console. Next to the wallet was a glass pipe with white residue. In searching further, since Brannon had a search waiver on file, Combs allegedly found a 20-gauge shotgun "hidden in a pillow" in the trunk of the vehicle.

Since Brannon is a convicted felon, Combs filed the additional firearm possession charge along with the drug paraphernalia charge for the pipe allegedly found.
