Local woman arrested for allegedly obtaining drugs with forged prescription

A local woman was arrested Wednesday night after she allegedly picked up some pills at an area pharmacy using a forged prescription.

Sandra L. Cline, 31, who lists an address of 159 Centerview St., No. 2, was taken into custody shortly before 8 p.m. and charged with a felony count of obtaining a scheduled III controlled substance by fraud, punishable by up to six years in prison. She was later released on $2,500 bond and is set to appear Dec. 31 in Garland County District Court.

According to reports, around 3 p.m. Wednesday, the pharmacist at Kroger, 4407 Central Ave., called to report he had received a prescription from someone supposedly calling for a local doctor's office for a female customer for 90 hydrocodone pills and 30 Amoxicillin, a non-controlled substance.

The pharmacist contacted the doctor's office and verified it was a forgery and notified Hot Springs police.

Detectives were waiting when a white female, later identified as Cline, showed up and walked directly back to the pharmacy and presented a forged prescription for the pills. The pharmacist gave them to her, and after she walked out of the store she was stopped by detectives in the parking lot, and they confirmed she was in possession of the pills.

She was taken into custody and later reportedly told detectives she was contacted by a white male she knew only as "Rob" who asked her to go to Kroger and get the pills for a friend by the same name the prescription was written to.

She said "Rob" told her he was going to sell the pills to someone else.
