HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The Hot Springs Village Property Owners' Association annual meeting will be held at 3 p.m. May 5 in the Ouachita Activities Building at Ponce De Leon Center.

Reports from the past year will be presented, along with various awards.

Music of Fab 3

featured at dance

The Merry Mixers Dance Club's dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at Coronado Center will feature music by Fab 3.

Rick Warren and the Vapors will perform at the dance on June 21.

Merry Mixer dances are held at Coronado Center from 7-10 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month. The cost is $7.50 per person. A dance is held from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month, preceded by a lesson at 7 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.

Louisiana Picnic

scheduled for May 8

The annual Louisiana Picnic will start at 5 p.m. May 8 at Balboa Pavilion.

McMillan's Restaurant of Malvern will provide a meal that includes catfish, shrimp and chicken starting at 6 p.m., and Larry Wilson will provide Cajun music.

After dinner, Ev Smyth will explain and lead the "second line dance." Participants are asked to bring a white handkerchief or umbrella and join in the activity, which has become a staple at the picnic.

The cost is $13. Checks should be made payable to Louisiana Picnic and mailed to Carol Jameston, 14 Narvaez Lane, Hot Springs Village AR 71909. The address, phone number and names of those attending should be noted on the check. The deadline is May 1.

Witt to address

Democratic Club

James Lee Witt, 4th Congressional District candidate, will be the keynote speaker at the April 25 meeting of the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. at Coronado Center. Witt will speak at 4 p.m. Other candidates for statewide offices are welcome.

Volunteers needed

for TRI-the-Village

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming TRI-the-Village Sprint Triathlon on June 14.

The event includes a 500-yard swim, a 13.5-mile cycle ride and 3.5-mile run. Email [email protected] or [email protected] to assist with the event.

GM Coffee

set for Wednesday

David Twiggs, chief operating officer, will discuss new development, amenities and opportunities for growth in Hot Springs Village at the next GM Planning Coffee at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlands Auditorium.

Easter egg hunt

scheduled for Saturday

DeSoto golf course will host the Hot Springs Village Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

The free event, which is open to the public, will begin with crafts at 11 a.m., followed by the Easter egg hunt at noon. The event will also include food, a moon bounce and the Easter Bunny.
