Library to host Zumba Gold

The Garland County Library, in partnership with the Oaklawn Center on Aging, will offer Zumba Gold from 1-2 p.m. Sept. 3 through Oct. 22 at the library's auditorium, 1427 Malvern Ave.

Zumba Gold is designed to take the Latin and international dance rhythms created in the original Zumba and bring them to the active older adult, the beginner participant, and other special populations that may need modifications for success.

Created to emphasize the basics, it is easy to follow and easy to learn. Zumba Gold is guaranteed to provide the participant with a safe and effective total body workout, a news release said.

Janet Whitten, outreach educator for Oaklawn Center on Aging and a certified Zumba Gold instructor will facilitate the class.

The class is free and open to the public.
