New leader needed

This is an open letter to the members and supporters of Hot Springs Pet Therapy. After re-organizing this group, and leading it as president, for the last nine years, I will not be seeking another term as president of Hot Springs Pet Therapy at the end of this year. Unfortunately, unless someone "steps up to the plate," this much-needed organization will simply go away.

I, and our directors, have built a fledgling group of volunteers into an organization that has done so much for this city and county. Our phenomenal canine members give all their love to those they visit in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, day cares, Jackson House, Abilities Unlimited and so many more places. I believe this group is filling a void in this community and I would hate for all of our "friends" to have to go without our dogs' unconditional love.

Our group is comprised of lots of people who would be able to continue to lead Hot Springs Pet Therapy but no one, so far, has volunteered to take that lead. Please, this group is too important to just let die! Someone -- take over my reins and continue to lead Hot Springs Pet Therapy into the future.

Thank you for your attention.
