The Verna Garvan Design Study Club will host its second flower show featuring design, horticulture and invitational classes from 2:30-5 p.m. Friday, all day Saturday and until 4 p.m. Sept. 14. The Standard Flower Show will be in the Magnolia Room at Garvan Woodland Gardens. Admission is free to the public. A fee will be charged if visitors wish to tour the gardens.

The theme will be "A Fabulous Fall." All horticulture and designs are created by the members. The design classes represent ones studied by the club since the last show in the fall of 2012.

The invitational designs will be created by members of Whitfield Garden Club.

The study club is a member of the National Garden Clubs Inc. NGC accredited judges will judge the show with ribbons being placed on a meritorious award system.

The purpose of this club is to become better designers of creative floral design as designated by NGC in the Handbook for Flower Shows. New members are welcome and are encouraged to visit and join.
