MALVERN -- A new nursing home is coming to Malvern. To be called Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation, the new facility will be located on West Moline Street, just south of Interstate 30.
The new Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation will replace the existing Malvern Nursing and Rehabilitation located on Cloud Road. Jayne West, administrator, expressed her excitement about the new replacement facility. "The Encore will be a beautiful addition to the Malvern community and, as the name implies, it will be a premier replay of the quality care and personal service Malvern has provided over the past several decades."
Scheduled to open in the fall of this year, Encore will feature 95 beds with a mix of 12 short-term private suites, an 18-bed memory unit called "The Retreat at Encore," a hospice suite, massage therapy spa, and spacious semi-private suites with varying configurations. The 51,007-square-foot facility will feature state-of-the-art equipment, furniture and amenities, along with a dedicated and expertly trained staff, all geared to providing the absolute best in short- and long-term rehabilitation services.
In addition to the health and wellness benefits the Encore will bring to Malvern and the surrounding communities, the $6,527,000 facility will also be a boom to economic development and job creation throughout the county. They will employ almost 100 full- and part-time employees providing 24-hour nursing care along with dietary, laundry, and housekeeping services.
The Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation, like Malvern Nursing and Rehabilitation will be a nonprofit facility operated by Arkansas Elder Outreach of Little Rock Inc. (Elder Outreach). Encore will be a sister facility of the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Little Rock as well as two other health care facilities located in Arkansas and five health care facilities located in South Louisiana. Elder Outreach is committed to providing excellent health care services, while enhancing communities through economic development and charitable giving.
The Encore is being developed by Southern Key Investments Inc. of Baton Rouge, La., and is owned by the Malvern Nursing Home Partnership Ltd. Elder Outreach will lease and operate the facility. Construction and permanent financing have been provided by the Malvern National Bank. General contractor for the facility is River Bend Builders LLC of Monroe, La.
