Bank robbery reported

Hot Springs police converged on Bank of the Ozarks, 1617 Malvern Ave., shortly after 12:36 p.m Tuesday in reference to a bank robbery. According to the bank employees, a black male entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. After the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect ran north on Malvern Avenue, according to a HSPD news release. Officers converged on the area but did not locate the suspect. Detectives and the HSPD Crime Scene Unit were on the scene collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses.
