Art of Marriage Class available in Hot Springs

River of Life Church is sponsoring The Art of Marriage, a program that gives couples a set of tools with which to improve marriage.

Led by Marc and Janis Bremer, more than 150 people have participated in this marriage enrichment experience. The Art of Marriage meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday during the public school year.

The seminar is held on the River of Life campus. Participants can enter the main lobby doors and be directed to the meeting room.

The Bremers have been married for more than 36 years.

"We rotate through the eight weeks and immediately start all over again, so a couple can join the event any Wednesday," Marc Bremer said.

"Every session is filled with very practical and valuable tools to help any marriage become stronger and more fulfilling."

"Counseling professionals and past participants from over 50 sessions rave about the impact that this event has had on them," Janis Bremer said.

"Many in our nation, state and city would believe that the disintegration of the family and marriages has had a negative impact on the culture. And although students are educated in algebra and grammar, there is almost no training on how to make a family or marriage work. However, since 2013, Hot Springs has had the opportunity to attend this class. The Art of Marriage is an eight-week, video-interactive seminar produced by Family Life Ministries, a nationally acclaimed organization based in Little Rock, whose purpose centers on strengthening and equipping families. The program consists of video teaching that includes short scenes of real-life scenarios. Trained facilitators guide the participants through questions that allow the couple to discuss communication, roles of husbands and wives, finances and intimacy," a news release said.

"We have had a representative from Family Life visit, and they have proposed this as a model for other areas. The Art of Marriage Class in Hot Springs has actually gotten national acclaim within the Family Life organization," Janis Bremer said.

"It has been a joy to see couples grow closer through this class," she said. "We've had couples with quality marriages and couples on the verge of divorce attend, and the comment we most often hear is that this is the best class they've ever had on helping them as a couple."

The cost is $35 per couple, which covers the cost of the workbooks that each couple receives. There is also child care available for children ages 3-18. Call River of Life Church at 501-623-6331 fore more information. All couples are welcome.
