Dear editor:
If Mr. Humphrey is so upset about the increase in TV cable rates, how does he feel about the charges on his electric and gas bills? Especially the customer charges.
Until a short time ago, I had an electric bill on the Mississippi gulf coast, where they have time of use rates. There my bill only had 3 percent Mississippi sales tax and 25 cents a month environmental tax. Is it because we don't elect the public commissioner as most states do?
When we were getting slammed on our phone, I got slammed by some foreign speaking people and I couldn't get unslammed. I went to Little Rock to see the public commissioner who was too busy to see me. Getting more frustrated, I called the attorney general's office and told them of my problem. The next morning an assistant attorney general came to my home. I told him my story and I was unslammed that day. Why don't we elect the public service commissioner, maybe then we would be fairly represented.
