March company donation given to Lions World Services for the Blind

The employees of City Plumbing, Heating & Electric chose the following Lions clubs as their March "Giving Back" recipients: Glenwood Lions Club, Hot Springs Lions Club, Diamondhead Lions Club, Jesse D. Hawkins Lions Club, Oaklawn Lions Club and South Lions Club. These funds of $1,150 will be distributed to the World Services for the Blind in the name of these clubs.

The World Services for the Blind is the only organization in the country that offers career-path professional training for adults who are blind or visually impaired. Their mission is to educate adults who are blind or visually impaired for careers and independent lives. Career-path professional training is offered in 11 occupational programs, including small engine repair, Microsoft systems engineering and programming, desktop support, customer service, and assistive technology instruction. They train clients for careers with the IRS. Since it began, this partnership with the IRS has led to employment for more than 1,300 blind or visually impaired clients from across the country.

This donation has brought City Plumbing, Heating & Electric's "Giving Back to the Community" total donations to more than $ 77,270.
