PR consultant talks to VCK Democrats

Kirby Williams, president of Fifty for the Future, will speak at the Virginia Clinton Kelly Democratic Women's meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson State Hot Springs, Landmark Building, 201 Market St. Social time starts at 5 p.m. He will discuss economic development issues and other civic information offered by the organization.

Williams is an Arkansas native and studied journalism, sociology, public relations and bank marketing at the University of Central Arkansas, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Louisiana State University. He operates Kirby & Co., which provides branding and public relations services to clients in the financial, political and tourism sectors. He is treasurer of the Arkansas Educational Television Network foundation.

Turtle Island gets new board member

Bob McFarlin, DVM, of Hot Springs, announced the addition of James Lee Witt to the board of directors of Turtle Island Hall of Honor. Turtle Island is a Native American museum project that will be built in Hot Springs that tells the story, through the lives of the people (ancestors) that lived the story.

Witt is principal of JLW Consulting Group and was director of the Federal Emergency Management Agent.
