HSV Genealogical to

view documentary film

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Hot Springs Village Genealogical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday in Room 6 of the Coronado Center, Hot Springs Village, for a short documentary film, "The German Who Came to Tea," introduced by Ann Workman from the upcoming Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

The film will be followed by a door prize drawing and group discussion with examples of genealogical information that can be discovered in oral histories, family letters, journals or newspaper clippings. All are welcome.

Ann and Woody Workman have resided in HSV for more than 20 years.

After a career with Eastern Airlines, Ann Workman works as a travel agent with Vacation Valet.

Her involvement with the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival was a natural fit where she has been active on the screening committee, reviewing more than 150 documentary films.

Village Genealogical Society meets the first Thursday of each month, from September through May.

There is also an informal breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. the third Thursday of every month at Debra's Restaurant on Carmona Road where topics of interest are shared and discussed.

These meetings are open to potential new members as guests. Please call President Joe Gillespie, 501-581-1411, or program Vice President Barbara Pinkney, 501-915-8446, for details.
