For many years, Ambrosia Bakery has made fresh New York-style bagels every morning. That requires an in-depth process that is becoming a dying art. Every morning the bagels are proofed, then boiled in a hot water "bath" for a few minutes prior to baking to give the bagels that old-fashioned chewy texture. The bagels at Ambrosia Bakery also have a touch of locally harvested honey to add that special local flavor.
In addition to their plain bagels, they are now making special Everything Bagels that add a mixture of onions, garlic, sesame seeds, poppy seeds and caraway. These treats are reasonably priced and a great way to start the day off right.
