Colonial Dames 17th Century chapter reports record growth

The five newest members of the Col. John Washington Chapter were recently introduced to the chapter at a meeting held at Hot Springs Country Club. Due to the diligent efforts of registrar Mary Reid Warner, the chapter has gained 14 new members since January 2014.

The National Society will celebrate its 100th anniversary at the 91st Annual National Conference to be held April 8-11 in Washington, D.C. A service organization, the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century is comprised of 45 state societies and one international society in Canada. These state societies are further divided into chapters. Their 11,500 members share a common interest in American history and love of and respect for this nation.

Membership is open to any woman who can prove direct lineage of an ancestor who lived and served prior to 1701 in one of the Original Colonies in the geographical area of the present United States. For information regarding membership, contact Warner, 922-6598.
