Hot Springs Gallery Walk is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. Friday to showcase works of art created by local and visiting artists.

Featured artists are often present to discuss their pieces and guests will see a wide range of fine art.

The free first Friday event and opening receptions are open to the public at the following galleries:

• Alison Parsons Gallery, 802 Central Ave. -- Presented will be the exhibit, "In Perfect Balance -- Art in Motion," featuring new kinetic mobile sculptures by Little Rock artist Gerald Lee Delavan. A special reception will be held from 5-9 p.m. and Delavan will be present to speak with guests. His mobiles offer a new perspective with every changing moment. Utilizing natural elements and simple materials, he creates mobile sculptures of beauty and, oftentimes, humor. Delavan considers natural materials the "soul" of his pieces.

• American Art Gallery, 724 Central Ave. -- Valerie Hanks-Goetz will demonstrate horsetail hair weaving and pine needle basket weaving. Work by gallery artists Margaret Kipp, Gaylia Gilbert, Jimmy Leach and Caren Garner will be on display, in addition to wood turnings by Virgil Barksdale and bronze pieces by Don Offenbacker. Guests may also visit the Thomas Kinkade Gallery upstairs in Gallery II.

• Artists' Workshop Gallery, 610-A Central Ave. -- Watercolorist Pat Langewis and

• The Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs, 626 Central Ave. -- The "Air Waves" exhibit will be up through Aug. 1. A bygone era of old-time radio is shown in Roxanne Butterfield's stained glass radio station microphone. Pat Langewis' watercolor will take people to the early days on air. John Mark Baker's sculpture captures the feeling of listening to a favorite rock music station, while Philip Chwalinski's acrylic abstract gives the feeling of road trip radio. Other artists represented include Gertrude Tara-Casciano, Philip Chwalinski, Kaye Coombe, Margaret Foote, Ike Garlington, Jeri Hillis, Nita LoRe, Marc Menefee, Clause Pollard, Cynthia Schanink, Sharon K. Simmons and Don Watson.

• Gallery Central, 800 Central Ave. -- July's event will showcase all new pieces by Doyle Young, Jacqueline Ellens and
