Local legislators visited the Lakeside School District on June 3 to present reward checks to each school on campus.
The schools were visited by State Sen. Alan Clark, R-District 13; state Rep. Laurie Rushing, R-District 26; state Sen. Bill Sample, R-District 14; and state Rep. John Vines, D-District 25.
Lakeside was one of the few school districts in the state to receive reward funds for all campuses for a combined total of $177,972,78. Only 215 public schools in Arkansas were honored with funds for being high-performing schools.
The Arkansas School Recognition and Reward program only recognizes the top 20 percent of schools based on academic achievement, academic growth and graduation rates.
