Dear editor: Was it a typo?

Dear editor:

I hate to keep bringing up trivial points when people are trying to discuss important subjects, but John W. "Doc" Crawford (July 26, 2015) said that the Declaration of Independence states that we are endowed by our Creator with certain "inalienable" rights. My copy shows the word spelled "unalienable." It is true that Thomas Jefferson originally spelled the word with an "i," but it was discussed and changed in the Continental Congress (much to the dismay of some members, it is reported), and all current copies show the word as "unalienable." Maybe it was just a typo. I do not mean to embarrass Dr. Crawford at all.
