A Plummerville man was arrested Monday after allegedly filling a fraudulent prescription at an area pharmacy.

Sherman Ray Tiner, 50, was charged with obtaining a prescription by fraud, a felony punishable by up to six years in prison, and possession of a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to 10 years. He was later released on a $10,000 bond and is due in Garland County District Court April 7.

Officers were dispatched to Healthmart Pharmacy, 1340 Higdon Ferry Road, Monday afternoon in reference to a male suspect with a fraudulent prescription. Sgt. Stockwell arrived and observed Tiner, who matched the description of the suspect given by dispatch, picking up a prescription. As Tiner attempted to leave with oxycodone, Stockwell made contact with him and informed him the prescription could be fraudulent. According to the affidavit, Tiner made the spontaneous statement, "And it is." He was taken into custody at that time.

Officer 1st Class Rodgers made contact with the pharmacy manager who stated the prescription was from St. Vincent Medical Clinic for 120 oxycodone pills and was dropped off Saturday. The manager stated 20 pills were filled with the remaining to be scheduled for pickup Monday.

According to the affidavit, when the manager returned to work Monday, it was found the patient name the prescription was ordered under was not on file and the prescribing doctor was not local. The manager contacted the clinic and verified the prescription was fraudulent.

During his interview, Tiner stated he found a folder in a parking lot with numerous prescription sheets and filled one.
