Dancer Jonathan Rabon will teach intermediate dance classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and advanced classes at 3-7 p.m. Nov. 28-29 at Diamond Dance Company, 3812-A Central Ave.

Most recently on tour with Justin Bieber, Rabon has also served as backup dancer for star performers including Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Selena Gomez.

"I've always been influenced by pop culture; I remember as a kid I would watch music videos and try to learn the choreography," Rabon said of his dancing background. "As I got older, my love for dancing grew stronger and I knew working in the industry was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life."

Rabon has been dancing professionally for seven years and said he felt accomplished when he booked his first job at the 2008 MTV Music Awards. "I knew this industry would change my life," he said.

Looking up to artists such as Chris Brown, Usher and Michael Jackson, Rabon has been dancing ever since he can remember and started training in choreography his freshmen year of high school before receiving a job opportunity working with a friend in Hot Springs.

"My parents not only love that I dance for these artists but they are such fans of all that I've accomplished in a city where dreams are made and broken on the daily," Rabon said.

He said his parents couldn't believe what they were seeing when they saw him on TV for the first time. "I didn't know who was more excited -- them or me," he said. "They were supportive and still to this day, they make sure to be there during all the highs and lows that this industry throws."

Classes are $150 for one day or $225 for both days.
