JESSIEVILLE -- Jordan Johnson rushed for 363 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries Friday night, leading Glen Rose to a 49-17 Class 3A-5 victory over Jessieville at Phillips Field.

Johnson fumbled on Glen Rose's first possession, Jessieville's Jacob Bearden recovering and the Lions striking quickly. Steven Benson's 24-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Daley plus Ruben de Haas' conversion made it 7-0 after 70 seconds of clock time.

Johnson then got going, his 17-yard run and nine-yard reception preceding his 40-yard touchdown run with 8:47 left in the first quarter.

After de Haas regained the lead for Jessieville with a 39-yard field goal, Johnson scored three straight touchdowns, his 16-yard run at 3:58 of the first quarter making it 14-10. Johnson's 28-yard run set up his four-yard touchdown scamper, on which he was untouched.

Britt Matlock's fumble recovery, after one by Jessieville's Caleb Bliss, set up his fourth touchdown. Gains of 45 and 19 yards by Johnson preceded his 14-yard scoring run with 4:50 before the break.

Daley returned the ensuing kickoff 69 yards to the Glen Rose 12, and Benson passed seven yards to Drew Galloway with 3:54 left in the half to make it 27-17.

Aaron Weatherford's 30-yard pass to Jared Rogers, followed by five more Johnson runs (an 18-yarder included), set up a quarterback sneak from the one with 1:02 left for 35-17.

Johnson had 316 yards on 25 carries in the first half. Benson completed 11 of 16 first-half passes for 122 yards.

Glen Rose did the only second-half scoring, Weatherford passing 23 yards to Rogers and Jake Thompson running four yards for touchdowns -- Weatherford's 38-yard pass to Sam Dawson setting up the latter.

Glen Rose player Seth Davis left the field in an ambulance after Benson forced a third-quarter fumble, recovered by Galloway.

Jessieville, 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference, travels to Haskell Harmony Grove next week. Glen Rose, 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference, goes to Bismarck.
