Police identified the victim as Steven Paul Moore, whose last listed address was Roland in Pulaski County.

HSPD Cpl. Kirk Zaner said that around 3:15 a.m. there were several 911 calls received about a shooting, and there was an officer in the area who actually heard shots fired and found the victim moments later and noted he was unresponsive.

LifeNet personnel responded and determined the victim had no signs of life. Garland County Coroner Stuart Smedley pronounced the victim dead at the scene and the HSPD crime scene unit began gathering evidence and processing the scene.

Zaner said there are no known suspects at this time, but anyone who may have seen anything or who has any information about possible suspects should contact Detective Mark Fallis at 501-321-6789, ext. 6720.

Moore was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication and was released at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday. At his Garland County District Court hearing, he listed his address as Roland, a small town in Pulaski County about 65 miles from Hot Springs. Moore was also arrested here Monday for public intoxication and later released.
