HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- This month's Hot Springs Village Morning Connection will feature inspirational speaker Jan Preston and a fashion show by local business owner Pa Houser.

The meeting is set for 9:30-11 a.m. April 20 in Diamante Golf Club, 2000 Country Club Drive.

Preston will present "The Memories of Your Life," the story of her own journey. Attendees will laugh and be encouraged while hearing about what memories have shaped her life.

An image consultant for the Dallas organization Dress for Success, she also serves as chair for the Christian Women's Connection of Collin County, Texas. She has been involved with women's groups for many years, speaking to groups and retreats all over Texas and surrounding states.

A member of the cosmetics industry in sales, training and business management positions for some 25 years, Preston has worked for world-class luxury brands. She traveled 16 states for the luxury brand La Prairie, worked for Darphin-Paris, traveled as a trainer for the Revlon Specialty Division, and served as an account executive for Adrien Arpel.

Preston and her husband, Keith, live in Plano, Texas. They have two adult children and three grandchildren. Recently retired, she looks forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and traveling with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing nonfiction, speaking, international travel, and entertaining friends.

Houser is the owner of Bella Boutique in The Dogwood Tree, located near HSV's East Gate. She will present a spring fashion show, with a collection purchased at a recent Dallas Market.

In 2001, Houser and her husband opened The Dogwood Tree, adding Bella Boutique in 2011 when the store underwent significant renovations.

Several Village ladies will serve as models, displaying the latest in both clothing and accessories. Vivid color plays a large part in the fresh looks this spring. New items this year at Bella Boutique include Kaktus, Ronnie Salloway's True Blue pants, and an Italian leather shoe collection from L'Artiste by Spring Step. The shop also offers a variety of jewelry to complement each outfit, and features Tagua jewelry, a line which integrates organic nuts in its production.

The Dogwood Tree also contains a U.S. Post Office, a complete line of Hallmark cards, gifts for any occasion, a Merle Norman cosmetics inventory, and drop-off and pickup for cleaning and dry cleaning. It is truly a one-stop shopping destination.

Morning Connection requires no membership or dues. Registration will begin at 9:15 a.m., and all area women are welcome to come and enjoy the morning, which will include a breakfast buffet, the style show, inspirational speaker, and fellowship for the cost of $15.
