Weighted justice

Dear editor:

Hot Springs, Ark., has not changed its basic values since the days of Al Capone and Bugs Moran. Money, connections and political powers win out in business and in the courts.

Woe is a farmer, factory worker or laborer; justice is swift and pointed. On the other side, recently there was a local attorney, with Little Rock connections, charged with killing a man, and she received a sentence of immediate probation.

Now, another travesty of the law has occurred in Hot Springs, Ark. This case is particularly onerous because this man will return to an elected position where he will determine the fate of others; people who are swiftly charged with the same type offenses he was not held accountable for!
