A Hot Springs woman was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly attempting to stab her boyfriend over his cooking.

Jovana Panic, 27, who lists a Bull Bayou Road address, was taken into custody at 12:15 a.m. and charged with second-degree domestic battery, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. She remained in custody Monday in lieu of zero bond and is set to appear Aug. 12 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, the victim said Panic, his girlfriend, had been drinking and got mad because he did not cook her any sides with their meal. Panic grabbed a knife and attempted to stab him after he told her to make her own sides. He grabbed the blade, causing deep cuts on both thumbs and they fell to the floor wrestling over the knife. Panic began to bite him on the chest causing abrasions to his right breast, and then fled the scene.

The victim initially refused medical treatment by LifeNet, but was transported by private vehicle to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs. A friend who took him to the hospital drove back by the residence and reported seeing Panic breaking a window out near the front door. When a Garland County sheriff's deputy arrived, Panic walked outside and attempted to tell the deputy what had happened.

Reportedly due to Panic's level of intoxication, the deputy was unable to understand her.
