Steven Williamson, extrusion supervisor at Alliance Rubber Co., recently received the Service Member Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, which honors supervisors of employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve for their support of those employees.
"Alliance is a proud employer of members of the National Guard and Reserve, as well as all military branches," Alliance CEO Bonnie Swayze said in a news release.
"Supervisors like Steven understand the importance of working with and supporting the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. We're very proud of him for this achievement," she said.
Recipients of the Patriot Award are individual supervisors nominated by an employee serving in the Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member. Employees may nominate individual supervisors for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family, the release said.
Supervisors can support members in many ways from creating flexible schedules, allowing time off prior to and after deployment, assisting in care for families, granting leaves of absence if needed or similar.
