HSV news in brief

Road closures in effect for culvert replacement

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- To allow for replacement of a culvert, Carmona Road between Ciudad Way and the Cortez Pavilion driveway, and Ciudad Way between Carmona Road and Badajoz Way, will be closed through the middle of the week, depending on how weather conditions affect work.

The Carmona Center entrance, Santistaban Way, and the Cortez Pavilion entrance will remain open.

Residents are asked to obey all posted signage, and be cautious while driving in work areas.

The Public Works Advisory message provides daily updates on road closures. Members may call 501-922-5556 and select option "3" to hear these informational messages.

Signage, lights ordered for intersection stop

Signs and lights have been ordered for the four-way stop at Balearic and Balboa roads.

Installation will begin within the next couple of weeks, and activation will take place sometime in late February.

Sanitation schedule sees pickup changes

The Public Works Department has recently restructured the residential sanitation schedule, due to the Townhouse Association assuming responsibility for sanitation collection for all town house residents.

The new schedule required changes in weekly pickup days for approximately 700 residents, and letters have been mailed to those residents. Changes will take place beginning the week of Feb. 1.

Sanitation pickup times may vary throughout HSV during January and thereafter, due to restructuring of sanitation routes. Because of this, residents are asked to have trash out by 8 a.m. to avoid being missed for collection.

Lease approved for Granada restaurant

During the January board of directors meeting, the board approved a three-year lease agreement between HSVPOA and E&M Ventures, LLC to lease and operate the restaurant at Granada Golf Club.

The grand opening date will be announced in the coming weeks.

Along with the transition to a new tenant, the POA has taken this opportunity to make some minor improvements to the clubhouse setting, including interior painting, flooring, kitchen and restroom improvements. The club will be closed through Friday for these improvements.

Crews will also be performing golf course maintenance during this closure.

Member patience during this process is appreciated.

Computer Club sets next meeting

The Computer Club of Hot Springs Village will hold a meeting Wednesday in the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way.

The meeting will open with social time and a help desk at 6 p.m. A short business meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m., then the program will begin.

The Computer Club of Hot Springs Village is open to all, including those who are not residents of HSV.
