Shady Grove Cemetery Assn. calls special meeting
Shady Grove Cemetery Association will have a special meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery. The officer's ask that all active members and those interested in becoming members attend. The meeting was called to fill vacant positions on the Board of Trustees due to death and affirm all officers positions.
Because there was not an official annual meeting in 2015, it is important all dues are current. If possible, please bring record of the last payment you made to the association.
Geology club program on hydraulic fracturing
Hot Springs Geology Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the board room of Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, 200 Whittington Ave. The room is located just inside the west parking lot entrance. Club President Bill Davidson will present "Hydraulic Fracturing."
Hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, has played an important role in the development of America's oil and natural gas resources for nearly 60 years. Davidson will explain the process, dangers, benefits and how using natural resources in Arkansas benefit the state or not.
