A Hot Springs man previously convicted for domestic battery in 2012 was arrested on a felony warrant Thursday for allegedly battering his wife in May.

Gerald Vance Hill, 44, who lists a Liberty Street address, was taken into custody shortly after 3 p.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a felony punishable by up to six years in jail. He also had a failure to appear warrant.

Hill remained in custody Friday in lieu of $3,500 bond and is set to appear Aug. 2 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, on May 21, Hot Springs Police officer Sean Dauberger responded to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and made contact with the victim. She told him that at 10 p.m. on May 20, she and Hill, her husband, got into an argument regarding an undisclosed amount of money. Hill allegedly hit her several times and drug her across the floor. The victim was observed to have bruises on her legs, face, arm and chest area.

On May 25, the victim spoke to detectives and elaborated on the incident, stating Hill grabbed her by the hair and slammed her against a door frame, injuring her collarbone. While attempting to exit the residence, Hill followed her, head-butted her in the side of the head and then punched her in the face.

In May 2012, Hill was convicted of third-degree domestic battery in Monticello, making a second offense a felony.
