Man faces kidnapping, other felony charges

A Hot Springs man was charged with multiple felonies, including kidnapping, Saturday after allegedly holding his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend hostage, then fleeing.

Chad Allison, age unavailable, was being held at the Garland County Detention Center on zero bond Saturday on felony charges of aggravated residential burglary, second-degree domestic battery, second-degree battery, fleeing, and two counts of terroristic threatening and kidnapping, said Deputy John Schroeder of the Garland County Sheriff's Department

The incident began when the sheriff's department received a call regarding a disturbance at 196 W. Sheets Trail at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Schroeder said.

Allison was allegedly holding the boyfriend in the house when deputies arrived, and they later learned that the couple had suffered nonlethal wounds because of Allison. The boyfriend managed to escape as deputies surrounded the house, but Allison fled out the back door and evaded deputies, he said.

Allison's flight led to an hourslong manhunt in the area by the Hot Springs Police Department and Garland County Sheriff's Department's K-9 units. The sheriff's department later received word that Allison had hitched a ride back to his home off Whittington Avenue.

Allison was located at his home at around 1 p.m., and was taken into custody. According to Schroeder, he was wearing the same outfit that he had been wearing when he allegedly fled the house on Sheets Trail.
