Garland County Sheriff Mike McCormick announced Monday that Cal, a recently retired K-9 with the department, died Thursday from natural causes at the home of his handler, Deputy Richard Huffman. Cal started serving at the sheriff's department in May 2006 and was retired in January. Huffman began working with a new canine partner, Aton, in February.
