New directors elected to HSV POA board

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Bob Cunningham, Thomas Weiss and Bill Roe were elected on Friday to the board of directors of the Hot Springs Village Property Owners' Association. Each will serve three-year terms, and they replace directors Jeff Atkins, Harv Shelton and Mary Neilson.

Voting results for the election were as follows:

• Cunningham received 6,216 votes.

• Weiss garnered 6,003 votes.

• Roe had 5,800 votes.

• Clay Herrmann totaled 3,381 votes.

Cunningham, Weiss and Roe will be seated on April 20 at the conclusion of the regular monthly board meeting.

Arkansas senator to speak in Village

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., will speak at a town hall event set for noon Friday in the Coronado Community Center, 150 Ponderosa Way.

Cotton will provide an update on legislation and his activities in the U.S. Senate. Following his remarks, he will take questions from attendees.

Church sets free two-day art show

The art show God's Gifts, Our Hands will take place for two days at Community of Joy Lutheran Church, 110 Balboa Road. On Friday, guests can browse from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, hours will be from 9 a.m. to noon.

This free event is a celebration of the gifts and talents of the congregation. Works will include paintings, photography, woodworking, needlepoint, knits, scrapbooking, dolls, miniature vignettes, and quilts.

All are welcome to attend.

First Rock Porch of 2016 announced

For the first Rock Porch concert of 2016, entertainer Jacob Flores will perform from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the special April location of Waypoint at DeSoto Marina, 120 Marina Road.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of listening to amazing music from another great singer and songwriter.

This free event is sponsored by the Hot Springs Village Recreation Department.
