Alicia Weatherford is the new program coordinator for Quapaw Community Center and Quapaw's Little Dreamers Childcare Facility. She has been with Quapaw House Inc. for more than five years in various roles. "I am very excited about taking on these new facilities and getting the word out on all we have to offer," says Weatherford in the press release.
Quapaw's Little Dreamers Childcare is gearing up for its summer program. "We are looking forward to all we are going to offer the children on their time out of school." Some of the things offered will be field trips, including putt-putt golf, swimming lessons, a trip to the zoo, skating, bowling, library activities, movies, Hog Wild fun center and more.
For anyone who needs a place for their child to spend time this summer, this is definitely something to look into. Little Dreamers is taking pre-registration applications for its year-round childcare facility, as well, serving ages 6 weeks to school-aged children and after-school program in which operating hours are from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 3-6 p.m., respectively.
Activities at the Quapaw Community Center include a heated pool (88-90 degrees year round) where there are lap swim time, water aerobics, aqua arthritis classes, and free swim times for all ages. Spots are now available for the summer swim lessons. "Along with the pool, we have a quaint, yet adequate, weight room and cardio room for those who want to come and work out on their own. We also offer clogging, line dancing, bingo, classic exercise classes, and just started new yoga classes at 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 11 a.m. Saturdays with Stacey Alexander, our new and amazing yoga instructor. She is ready for any type of student, from beginner to advanced, to join her in these classes," states Weatherford.
