The Hot Springs High School boys' soccer team celebrated its first state championship Saturday with a 4-2 win over Valley View in the Class 5A final in Fayetteville. Erick Guadron played a role in all four goals and was named the tournament's most valuable player. The district is working to collect donations to help all 31 players purchase state championship rings. Each must raise $150. The district's "Proud to be a Trojan Day"on Thursday will allow staff members to wear jeans and their favorite Trojans shirt for a $5 donation. Sponsorships of athletes are also being sought in any amount. See related story on Page 1B.
