A Texas man who was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly refusing to pay his hotel bill was also charged on a domestic battery warrant from May.

Anthony Vincent Zarcone, 39, was taken into custody shortly after 9 a.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery and theft of services, both misdemeanors punishable by up to one year in jail. He remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $1,000 bond and is set to appear June 7 in Garland County District Court.

According to the affidavit, at approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, a Hot Springs police officer responded to the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa, 239 Central Ave., in reference to a man refusing to pay his hotel bill. The officer made contact with an employee who stated he and other hotel staff attempted to process three credit cards that Zarcone had provided, but they were each declined.

Zarcone was found to have a warrant stemming from an incident on May 19. According to the affidavit, at around 4:45 p.m. that day, a woman reported Zarcone, her fiance, had grabbed her by the arms and threatened to kill her while in his vehicle. She stated his threats were detailed and included "cutting off her finger, taking her up on a mountain, killing her, feeding her to bears and burying her on the mountain."

The victim was observed to have bruising on her upper and lower left arm. She said "she was in fear for her life when Zarcone made the threats to the point she jumped out of the car to try and flag down people."
