Living Waters COGIC has weekend celebration

Living Waters Church of God in Christ will have a Family and Friends Weekend Celebration beginning with the annual Family and Friends Picnic at Family Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. There will be fishing, games and food.

The celebration will continue with the official service at 11 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at 306 Grove St. The message will be given by Pastor David L. Withers.

St. Phillips COGIC, 237 Walnut St., will have A Holy Ghost Revival at 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Missionary Linda Diggins Durden, of William Temple COGIC, in Little Rock, will be the revivalist.

Roanoke Baptist has Women's Day Sunday

Roanoke Baptist Church, 315 Whittington Ave., will celebrate its Annual Women's Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Sister Earlene Steward Torrence, a native of Hot Springs now living in Little Rock, will speak on the theme, "The Responsibility of a Christian Woman." She is a member of Agape Community Temple of Servants Church. Special soloist will be Sister Tiana Preston and the women's choir will render music.

Bible evidence seminar offered by HS SDA

"Thunder in the Holy land," a free seminar focusing on historical evidence for the Bible, is slated for the Hot Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, 401 Weston Road, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21-29. The seminar, featuring recent footage from the Holy Land, will be moderated by Richard Hall, former pastor of the Hot Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, who has traveled extensively throughout Israel and Jordan in search of Bible truth.

The seminar will include footage shot throughout the Middle East, revealing recently unearthed evidence proving the authenticity of scripture. The exploration will begin with the presentation, "Talking Stones," including a record of ancient Israel living in the land of Egypt.

The Oct. 22 session will offer "Battle with an Angel," featuring stories of angels, demons and the quest for alternate life in the universe. Continuing sessions will offer an ongoing study of historical and archeological evidence, building a foundation for the words of the Bible.

The seminar is free and is designed for everyone interested in Bible history, archaeology and the authority of the scriptures.

Multi-church revival, festival scheduled

Revival in the Springs, a multi-church revival and fall festival, will be held at Hot Springs Memorial Field on Airport Road Wednesday through Oct. 23. It is free to the community. Christian bands will perform.

A special youth revival with Pastor Mo Capaci, of Gospel Light Baptist Church, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pastors for the 7 p.m. revivals are Rusty Hunter, of One Refuge, on Thursday; Greg Bearss, of LakePointe, Friday; and Josh Harper, of Community Outreach, Oct. 22; with George Vincent, of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. Oct. 23.

A Fall Fest will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 followed by Trunk or Treat until 6:30 p.m. There will be music, food, games and community worship. Everyone is welcome.

Musical festival at New Walters AME

New Walters AME Zion Church, 205 Silver St., will hold its 2016 October Musical Festival at 6 p.m. Sunday. The public is welcome.

SW District Association to present premusical

The Southwest District Association premusical will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 220 Vine St., Malvern. The program will feature singing pastors with emphasis on hymns and gospel classics. The public is welcome. Call 870-230-3208 for information.

Car show to benefit HolyGhost Headquarters

The first Old School Car Show will be held Oct. 22 at 706 Higdon Ferry Road. Registration is at 10 a.m., with the show from noon to 2 p.m. Vehicles from the 1960s to current models will be judged for first and second place prizes. The entrance fee is $20 in advance or $30 the day of the event. Proceeds will go to the HolyGhost Headquarters Church Building Fund.
