Ignore 'senseless banter'

Dear editor:

Why we have chosen our past leaders?

The real reason this country has chosen such weak leaders is that for many hundreds of years, except World War II era, this country has not been challenged, food and shelter are abundant, life is easy. Because of this, leaders are then chosen for their charisma, good looks, a clever way with words, nice family and most importantly, those promises that are too good to be true. When politicians say things that make you feel good and embrace the idealistic society you want, you vote accordingly.

The best leader is someone you don't like and even fear. This leader is brave and unafraid to make tough decisions. When the chips are down, this is the kind and type of leader you need. Promises and charisma don't count when real dangers are immanent.

Are you thinking you are safe and secure? Think again as you are being lulled into a false sense of security. Evil is everywhere and worse, growing. Count on it.

And finally. If you have been wondering if I am a Republican, a Democrat, for a man or a woman, then you have been indoctrinated instead of educated. If you are going to vote, get your facts from research and history, not from the senseless banter on public media or the latest poles.
