Dear editor:
Shortly after the tragic flood in Baton Rouge, the owners of Doc's Pizzeria, 1018 Airport Road, called my church and said they had conducted an in-restaurant fundraiser between staff and customers, and had raised some relief money and wanted the Knights of Columbus to administer the distribution of funds.
She made out a sizable check to the Knights of Columbus which I mailed to the vice supreme master in Baton Rouge for disbursement.
It was quite generous for Doc's Pizzeria to take this initiative.
I also received an email today that the National Office of the Knights of Columbus has sent $500,000 to Baton Rouge to help in the effort, as well.
